Iron Giant is probably my favourite animated movie ever at this point. Brad Bird is pretty amazing.

I loved the Iron Giant, it made me cry, such a sweet movie. I haven't seen too many in this genre. But in the spirit of "with only a few left in existence," genre, you might add the abomnible 28 Days Later, or The Stand to such a list, were it made.

You definitely want to put the mid-'80s BBC drama Threads on the list. It is absolutely devastating. The Pasadena Public Library has a copy you can check out, and I watched right around the time Katrina happened. Freaky.

You know, I had that on there but bumped it to make way for The Iron Giant. This sort of thing makes me question my arbitrary decision to limit myself to five. Oh well.
